welcome

Elijah Trotsky found his sound and attitude on the streets of Hollywood. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley, with a Masters in Western Philosophy from Columbia, he began studying banjo at age nine. The banjo's been his through-line ever since, be it the customized electric he rocks for club gigs, or the humble Harmony always in the back of his car, ready for a spontaneous song.

My Facebook Community
It was only a matter of time until the "mean" hit Facebook. A dear friend of mine had a false page of him put up an it is full of slander. Rainbow is not computer savvy and the gentlest of souls....I am beginning to see that this media can easily be used to hurt people who don't have the time, money or impetus to engage in the electronic media. Whoever pulls the levers at such a powerful community can easily begin to define us all through a myriad of of subliminal and suggestive tools, from the color tint of your page or a font...it's that easy. Perhaps this will prompt me to delve more deeply into my relationships. To each his own.....I am just feeling something dark over there in Facebookland...

Into March we march..
It occurred to me upon waking that the less time I spend looking for an immediate solution to the issue du jour and the more time I spend jumping into new situations, the more liberated I feel. Perhaps every new endeavor is the positive thrust of the previous one! OK now onto politics..does it also seem to you that we are rudderless, that both parties are throwing things on the wall looking for something to stick..It is a facebook/twitter world, if your personally zeitgeist doesn't get a response, make up another. Perhaps mother nature will intervene

Inauguration Edition
It is my nature to be a contrarian - It is great to have a person of color ascend to the highest cubicle in the nation (A nation I proudly call my home and have always, regardless of all the deadly injustice's it has worked through). However, these are my thoughts so far. Truth is without the last 8 years of Bush's (see Goering's explanation of the Nazi rise to power in his testimony at Nuremberg) "fear" doctrine, there would be no Obama singular leader cult of reconciliation...President Obama owes his entire 1 note campaign to GWB... Predictions - 1. Quotas 2. Rationing 3. Government media networks (cable/broadcast/internet/radio/print)

Senate seat for sale on Ebay
Any other liberals exhausted from the medias covering up for President-elect Obama....Someone needs to tell them that covering up his mis-steps will not releive our collective guilt. He is a politician like the rest...don't trust them to much and he's as susceptible to corruption as much as the rest (see home purchase sweetheart deal; Rezko).

Today on Wall Street - an analysis by this Trotsky
One can actually see our way of life disappear 6 to 8 months in-front of us (that is the normal lag between main street and our shtetl's). Perhaps, this isn't what is happening at all and one den of thieves is leaving town with as much as they can before the next group of crooks moves in. No one can tell, however I think that now truly is the time to think about how I want to live for the next many years...creatively, emotionally, communally and artistically. Stay as healthy and as fit as you can...there is so much more to see..

Importance of banjo's in the last Great Depression
Probably the greatest depression era troubador was Woody Guthrie, his long neck banjo counterpart was and is (still alive) Pete Seeger. Whoever out there is seeing their lives forever altered by circumstances out of your control, please email me your story and I will document it and put a compilation of thoughts to song. The Boston Globe had a piece on how the a new "Great Depression" would look. Let me know.

A great talent out of Tempe
Bryan, from jadedkids.com created this website. He is talented, thoughtful has great customer communication skills and is an amazing listener. If we want out of this financial maze, it won't be from trusting some spewing politician/preacher who's campaign manager lines his pockets with the donations of those struggling American's putting up ten or twenty dollars (our President elect is just another televangelist). It will come from you and me and great services like jadedkids....don't be deluded by the fantasy. Following a politician is about as wise a move as fishing for your ring down the garbage disposal when it's on.
